Rat 2 – Check

This time we were able to get the second rat. We can also get the first rat at the same time. Now we are thinking what Yotty will do after he gets the blue rat. We are going to program him to go back to base, but we might change that and go do the harvester, farm truck and pesticide. That could be worth a lot of points. We will probably work on that in the next meeting on this Saturday. Hopefully next time we will have loads of fun and accomplish a lot of work with Yotty.
Ratrun 2

Last meeting our coach was out of town but we still got something accomplished. We started working on the 2nd Ratrun! Our first method was to follow the line to the blue rat but that did not work at all. So we just made Yotty go forward and turn to the left but we found that our claw was too low. We made it higher but the claw was coming to the ground. We changed the program and the claw was at the right level but it was off center and too fat. We could not do anything about it because right then the meeting ended. We are definitely going to get the 2nd rat next meeting!
Rat Run 1 is Complete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weve done it!!! Rat Run is complete!!! We made Yotty get the red rat. We changed the hopper and made a few minor programming adjustments. And, we made a jig to straighten him out. Then, Yotty did it! He completed Rat Run 1. What a great team we have! It was such a great success…
Operation RatRun

Now we figured out why Yotty wasn’t moving. The straight wheels weren’t letting Yotty turn because they didn’t swivel. So we took them off and replaced them with the castor wheels that enable Yotty to turn now. But we also have planned out the first mission. We are going to make it grab the rat from the rat slide. We call the file we are writing RatRun. We have Yotty all equipped for the mission. We are planning on finishing the mission in the next meeting.
Yotty’s not moving! WHAT!

When we started our meeting on Wednesday we found that Yotty would not move! A gear kept slipping every time we tried to move it. We found that the axle was going in the wrong hole. Even when we fixed that the gear still slipped! So we raised the gear ratio. The gear stopped slipping but Yotty still wouldn’t move. We figured that the power was to low so we increased the power. Yotty still did not move. We put the maximum gear ratio when Yotty started moving. As slow as a snail. Right then the meeting ended so we promised Yotty that we would fix it next meeting. We have to get Yotty moving!
